There are all sorts of holiday traditions this time of the year. The most common for me being the creation of candy laden gingerbread houses, stringing up Christmas lights and hanging custom made stockings. The other night I went over to a friend’s house who was having a dinner party. I got there a bit earlier then other people to help with the cooking. When I got there, different beads, string, glue and thin wire was lying on the table. I asked what all this stuff was and she said her and her friend were making holiday handcrafted jewelry. They showed off the red and green necklaces and bracelets they had made so far. It all looked really good.
Apparently, making holiday handmade jewelry is a family tradition for her. It was new to me but pretty cool. I’m not the craftiest of people so I’m not so sure anyone would want to wear a necklace I made but it looked like a lot of fun to try. Since she was having people over, I didn’t get a chance to try my hand in handcrafted jewelry. But next time.
