handcrafted jewelry, coin necklace


I like handcrafted jewelry because often they are one of a kind pieces. I enjoy going to art fairs and looking at all the pretty beads, coins and leather used in handcrafted jewelry. This is where I find most of my handmade jewelry. 

One fair produced a very unique coin necklace that I really like. It is made with three coins spaced and separated with a knotted piece of leather. The clasp in back is a loop with another smaller coin to hold it together. I was lucky to find matching earrings at another art fair. They are made with one coin each and accented with a price of turquoise. Together they make a nice handcrafted jewelry set.

The crafters at these fairs will often make their wares on site. I like to watch them and have on occasion asked them to put together a piece with specific beads of my choice. The handcrafted jewelry turned out beautiful and really was the finishing touch to an outfit I was wesaring for a special date. By the way, the date went well and today my husband and I attend art fairs together!
