coin necklace

Coins generally represent money when most people think of them but often times various cultures and societies have minted some very beautiful works of art through coins. The reason is that coins aren't just for money - they often represent key cultural characteristics through artwork and historical depictions. They can truly be a tiny little window into the culture they came from.

With that said making a coin necklace can be a fun and exciting project as well as rewarding. A coin necklace can be a great piece of jewelry that has an eclectic and unique look. The key is to have the right materials.

Making holes in the coins can be done with a specialized saudering tool, but you don't need real coins to make a coin necklace. What I've done in the past is actually go shopping for some fake looking coins that are made out of material that is easier to manipulate like plastic or a lighter metal. Even better if you want to do it with real coins is to find the kind that are specially produced with holes in them - I know I have a few from Italy and Germany that are exactly so.
