coin necklace, handcrafted jewelry It is amazing how much artisanship went into the details embedded on the front and back of old coins. Just check out the picture of the Polish coin above. There is some serious detail in a silver coin, which probably doesn’t have to high of a value. I’m pretty sure the Polish coin in the picture above is not that old of a template. Go back thousands of years and those coins are even more spectacular. I get the allure of having a vintage coin necklace. There is a feeling of luck that runs with handcrafted jewelry like this. I would love to have a coin necklace with the tender from a country of my heritage. Such a simple idea really holds a lot of sentiment.

I used to have a lucky coin my grandfather gave me out of his collection of vintage late 1800s American coins which would have been the perfect centerpiece for a lucky coin necklace. I love how old coins were once pure mineral from core to outer face. A nickel was silver all the way through. Today our coins at least American are all filled with a cheaper mineral and then cased in silver.
