handcrafted jewelry


My niece likes anything having to do with crafting. It can be coloring, drawing, painting, cutting or making handcrafted jewelry. She is a delight to babysit and we enjoy our time spent together doing all kinds of hands on projects. 

One time when my niece was visiting we got our hands into making tye dye t-shirts. We had a blast winding and rubber banding the white t-shirts in preparation for the dye. Then we applied red, blue, yellow and green dyes generously on those bundles of fabric. Neither of us could hardly wait to see the finished product!

I keep several handcrafted jewelry kits on hand for when my niece comes to my house. In the past we have put together handcrafted jewelry made of beads, plastic or wire and small charms. My nieces favorite color is purple so we made a complete set of handcrafted jewelry for her out of different shades of purple colored beads. We added a set of beads that spelled out her name on the bracelet. She has worn the necklace and bracelet quite often ever since.
