handmade jewelry


I look forward to attending the traveling art fairs that come through my town every six months or so. I especially enjoy the people watching and going from booth to booth checking out what the artists have brought this time around. It is very interesting to me to watch the crafters as they create their handmade jewelry right in front of my eyes. There has been many times that I have requested what I would like and they have been able to make it. I like that alot. 

I enjoy handmade jewelry because I know that each piece was made with some personal intention and that it is truly one of a kind. I have dabbled somewhat in the art of handmade jewelry myself. I have collected all kinds of beads, mostly from those art fairs and some from a local bead shop. The bead shop is another place I can loose myself in for hours at a time. It simply fascinates me to see the many types of beads and materials used to make them. 

When I wear my handmade jewelry the compliments are always forthcoming and questions are asked about where I got this or that. A few of the artists I have met at the art fairs have little shops around town. Otherwise one must peruse the traveling fairs to find pieces of beautiful handmade jewelry.
