Handmade jewelry, part of my parents collection |

My parents always collected coins of every kind. My father put them in pill bottles and labeled them. I inherited them all. I never found any coins that were particularly valuable but they have a certain sentimental value to me. They did get me interested in using them to make handmade jewelry. I guess though that I am not exactly talented in this field and yet have become fascinated with handcrafted jewelry made by others. I have gone online and studied all about coin jewelry and found a place to buy beautiful things without the frustration of trying to make it on my own. I bought a great coin necklace for much less than I would have had to spend on the parts to make it myself and I know it would not have been half as beautiful. Handmade jewelry is so personal and seems to show the love put into the making of it. Maybe someday I will try to use my parents coins, but for now I will just keep them safe and save them for my children who might want to do something with them. |
